Sing Geetham Story

In Kuberapuram, Renu (Shalini Kondepudi) plans to sell Kubera Gold Mines to a businessman from Nairobi, but the deal requires the approval of her co-owner, Pratap (Ayaan), who refuses to sign. As mining continues, a sacred tree cherished by Gauri is cut down despite her protests. In anger, Gauri (Ahilya) invokes a curse that causes the villagers’ spoken words to turn into songs. The story follows the village’s struggle to break the curse, uncover the mystery behind Pratap’s connection to the tree, and determine the fate of the mining deal.

Sing Geetham Analysis

Director Sangitam delivers a meaningful message about humanity and environmental conservation through Sing Geetham. While the film was promoted with the unique concept of “words becoming songs,” this idea is only partially explored.

The first half ends with Pratap returning to Kuberapuram, cutting down the village’s last tree, and entering a mysterious cave. The second half focuses on human greed and the importance of compassion. A touching pre-climax twist and satisfying climax keep the audience engaged.

However, the film has a few flaws. Some plot points remain unexplained, the flashback feels rushed, and the first half suffers from pacing issues with a few routine scenes.

Performances & Technical Aspects

Ayaan shows promise in his debut but needs improvement in emotional scenes. Shalini is effective as the negative-shaded Renu, while Ahalya stands out as Gauri with a strong performance blending emotion, comedy, and intensity. The supporting cast does well, and cameo appearances by Vijay Deverakonda and KV Anudeep add entertainment value.

Technically, the film is solid. Devi Sri Prasad’s music is its biggest strength, elevating the overall experience. The visuals are impressive, and production values are decent, though the editing could have been tighter.
