Ram Charan’s Peddi : Mega Power Star Ram Charan’s much-awaited pan-India sports-action drama Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, has entered the final stage of production. Originally slated for a March 27 release, the film has now been rescheduled to a grand summer release on April 30, aiming to capitalise on the long holiday season. With the revised timeline, the makers are gearing up for an extensive and aggressive promotional campaign.
The newly released date announcement poster showcases Ram Charan in a never-before-seen, raw, and massy avatar. Sporting long, messy hair, a thick beard, and a nose ring, the actor appears intensely fierce. His piercing eyes stand out amid smoky, chaotic visuals, as he emerges from a crowd of weary, grim-faced people. The gritty colour palette and framing strongly convey themes of struggle, rebellion, and social unrest.
Peddi has already created a strong buzz with its promotional material. The first glimpse, first-look posters, and the chart-topping single “Chikiri Chikiri”, composed by Oscar-winning maestro AR Rahman, have received a phenomenal response across platforms. The song has crossed 200 million views, continuing its record-breaking run and significantly boosting the film’s hype.
The film features Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead, alongside an impressive supporting cast including Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyendu Sharma, and Boman Irani in pivotal roles. Notably, Ram Charan will be seen in a completely new and unique role, marking a first-of-its-kind performance in his career.
Produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the Vriddhi Cinemas banner, Peddi boasts a top-tier technical team. AR Rahman handles the music, R. Rathnavelu captures the visuals as cinematographer, National Award–winning editor Navin Nooli oversees the editing, and Avinash Kolla brings the film’s world to life through detailed and immersive production design.
Peddi is set for a pan-India release in all South Indian languages as well as Hindi, positioning it as one of the biggest and most anticipated releases of the summer.
