Vijay Deverakonda is back with his much-anticipated film Kingdom, directed by Jersey fame Gowtam Tinnanuri. The movie is produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under the Sithara Entertainments banner. The female lead is played by Bhagyashree Borse, while Satyadev and Tamil actor Venkatesh have key roles. According to a recent interview with producer Naga Vamsi, the movie is made on a massive budget of ₹130 crores.

Plot Overview:

Vijay Deverakonda plays the role of Constable Suri. His elder brother Shiva, portrayed by Satyadev, goes missing after traveling to Srikakulam. At the same time, Suri is assigned an undercover operation in Sri Lanka — to pass on crucial information about a gang to the police. During this mission, Suri finds out that one of the prominent members of this gang is none other than his brother Shiva, who is currently in jail. This leads to tension and conflict between the two brothers. The movie unfolds with emotional layers as it explores what happens when Shiva discovers that his younger brother Suri is a police informant. There is also a subplot involving why the character Madhu, played by Bhagyashree Borse, is angry with Shiva.

Characters:

Vijay Deverakonda as Suri

Satyadev as Shiva

Bhagyashree Borse as Madhu

Venkatesh as Murugan, a key member of the Sri Lankan gang

Amidst the intense action and brotherly conflict, the film also explores a romantic track between Vijay and Bhagyashree. Emotional conflict between Vijay and Satyadev’s characters is said to be a major highlight. According to early reports, the first half is a bit slow, but Vijay’s performance during the jail sequences is exceptional.

🎵 Anna Antene Song from Kingdom has also caught audience attention.

Technical Strengths:

Direction: Gowtam Tinnanuri

Editing: Naveen Nooli

Music: Anirudh Ravichander

Technically, Kingdom is said to be very strong. The flashback episodes are emotionally intense and crucial to the storyline. The film’s total runtime is 2 hours and 40 minutes, and the shooting lasted approximately 140 days. About 80% of the film was shot in real locations — 40% in Sri Lanka, 40% in Vizag, and the rest in Hyderabad and Kerala.

Box Office Outlook:

Vijay, coming off a series of flops, sees Kingdom as a crucial film in his career. The film has already done ₹10 crores in pre-sales, while non-theatrical rights have fetched around ₹50 crores. The break-even target is reportedly ₹100 crores. The movie is also being released in Hindi under the title Samrajya.

With its theatrical release just hours away, the industry and fans alike are waiting to see how audiences respond to Kingdom.
