Single Movie Review: Story


Vijay (Sree Vishnu), an insurance executive at SDFC Bank, dreams of falling in love and getting married. Alongside his colleague Arvind (Vennela Kishore), he navigates his quest for love. Vijay falls for Poorva (Kethika Sharma), who works at an Audi showroom, and devises a plan to win her heart. However, the plan backfires, leading him to meet Harini (Ivana), a dancer. As Vijay pursues Poorva, Harini develops feelings for him. Will Vijay’s love for Poorva triumph, or will Harini’s affection prevail? Or does the story take an unexpected turn? That’s the rest of the tale.

Single Telugu movie: Analysis


The first half of Single is a laugh riot, with comedy scenes that keep the audience in splits. Sree Vishnu and Vennela Kishore’s on-screen chemistry guarantees chuckles every time they appear. Metro comedy episodes, social media spoofs, and meme-inspired dialogues land perfectly, tickling the funny bone. The Single song is catchy, and spoofs of various films and heroes add to the humor. Gayatri’s episodes are particularly engaging.

While the first half is purely comedic, the second half starts with laughs but gradually shifts to an emotional tone with Harini’s backstory, which pivots the narrative. The quick return to comedy is a plus, keeping the vibe light. Director Karthik Raju skillfully weaves a simple triangular love story with a comic spin, though the second half’s screenplay feels uneven. Dialogues by Bhanu Bhogavarapu and Nandu Savirigana are a highlight, but the unconventional climax feels rushed and incomplete, leaving a sense of haste.

Sree Vishnu shines with impeccable comic timing and body language, owning every scene. His metro and pub episodes, along with his combination scenes with Vennela Kishore, are standout moments. Kethika Sharma delivers a composed performance as Poorva, effectively carrying the emotional conflict of the story. Ivana impresses as the lively Harini, adding a surprising twist to the narrative.
Vennela Kishore is a major highlight, with his role running throughout the film. His love track adds consistent comedic value. Rajendra Prasad, as ASN Murthy, brings emotional depth, while comedians Nithin Narne and Satya surprise with their roles. VTV Ganesh (bank manager), Kalpalatha (mother), and child actor Bulli Raju perform adequately. Vishal Chandrasekhar’s music and background score are solid, with decent editing and visuals.
