The much-awaited period drama ‘Hari Hara Veeramallu’ is all set to hit theaters in just two days. Starring Pawan Kalyan in the lead role, the film will be released in two parts. The first installment is titled ‘Hari Hara Veeramallu: Spirit vs Sword.’

While the film originally began under the direction of Krish Jagarlamudi, it was eventually completed by director Jyothi Krishna. Produced by A.M. Rathnam and A. Dayakar, the movie is scheduled for a theatrical release on July 24. A day before the official release, paid premieres will be held across the Telugu states.

As part of the film’s promotions, Pawan Kalyan interacted with the media in Hyderabad and shared some fascinating insights about the story and production.

“The story of Hari Hara Veeramallu explores how the famed Koh-i-Noor diamond, from the banks of the Krishna River in Kolluru, eventually ended up with the Sultans of Hyderabad. And how it changed hands over time,” Pawan Kalyan explained.

“The film is set against the backdrop of the Mughal Empire. It imagines what might have happened if a warrior like Veeramallu existed during that period — a time when every Indian suffered under the empire. Drawing on my experience with action choreography, we designed a grand climax. It runs for nearly 20 minutes and was shot over 50 days during the peak of summer. That sequence is the soul of the film.”

Pawan Kalyan also shared that the film wasn’t originally planned as a two-part saga.

“But as the story grew larger in scale, we realized it needed a pause. So, we decided to wrap the first part with this powerful climax. Director Krish initially brought us a strong concept, but due to creative differences, he stepped away. From creative to financial challenges — and even COVID delays — this film faced it all,” he added.

Director Jyothi Krishna, who eventually took over the project, described the film as:

“A period action drama set in the 17th century, during the reign of Aurangzeb. The central character, Hari Hara Veeramallu, is a fictional warrior, and the film imagines what would happen if he went to war against the emperor.”

Cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa also shared his excitement about the film:

“There’s a powerful flashback in the second half that I think audiences will love. And there’s a phenomenal action sequence set against a ‘Chowkidar’ backdrop — it’s one of the highlights.”
