Aditya Devulapally interview: వర్టికల్ స్టోరీస్లో చాయ్ షాట్స్ నుంచి వీక్షకుల ముందుకు వచ్చిన ‘దందా’ సిరీస్ ఆకట్టుకునేలా ఉంది. ‘దందా’తో దర్శకుడు ఆదిత్య దేవులపల్లి అందరినీ ఆకట్టుకుంటున్నారు. ఈ క్రమంలో ఆయన తన సినీ జర్నీ, నేపథ్యం గురించి ఎన్నో విషయాల్ని పంచుకున్నారు. ఆయన (Director Aditya Devulapally )చెప్పిన సంగతులివే..
– నేను చదువులో టాపర్నే, కానీ సినిమాలపై ప్యాషన్తో ఇంజనీరింగ్ మధ్యలోనే వదిలేసి, ఫ్యామిలీ సపోర్ట్ తో ఫోటోగ్రఫీ నేర్చుకుని, ఇండస్ట్రీకి వచ్చాను. ఆ తర్వాత సెయింట్ మేరీస్ కాలేజీలో మాస్ కమ్యూనికేషన్ లో చేరా. అక్కడి ప్రొఫెసర్ అమృత్సార్కి కూడా సినిమా అంటే ఇష్టం. ఆయన వరల్డ్ సినిమా నా వైపు చూసింది. ఆ తర్వాత జర్నలిజంలోకి వచ్చి, కాంటాక్ట్స్ పెంచుకున్నాను. ఈ క్రమంలోనే చాయ్ బిస్కెట్ అనురాగ్ అన్నకి ఓ వైలెంట్ కథ నరేట్ చేశా. నా 28 సంవత్సరాల వయసులో దర్శకుడిని కావాలను కున్నాను. అయ్యాను.
– ఒరిజినల్ కథను విజయ్ కుమార్ రాయగా, నేను మొత్తం రీ రైట్ చేసి, కథకు ఒక కంప్లీట్నెస్ తీసుకొచ్చాను. గణేష్ ఠాకూర్, అరవింద్, ప్రకాష్ ఠాకూర్ క్యారెక్టర్ బ్యాక్గ్రౌండ్స్తో సహా దాదాపు 40% మార్పులు చేశాను. ఆ తర్వాతే దొరసాయి తేజ ఈ ప్రాజెక్ట్లోకి వచ్చాడు.
– ఇప్పటివరకు ‘దందా’కి ఒక్కటంటే ఒక్క నెగెటివ్ రివ్యూ కూడా రాలేదు! ప్రతీ ఒక్కరూ ఈ ఫ్రెష్ మేకింగ్ స్టైల్, స్ట్రాంగ్ కంటెంట్ను విపరీతంగా పొగుడుతున్నారు. మ్యూజిక్ గురించి ప్రత్యేకంగా మాట్లాడు కుంటున్నారు. సిరీస్ బాలేదని ఒక్కరు కూడా అనలేదు. పెద్ద పెద్ద సెలెబ్రిటీలు సైతం అనురాగ్ అన్నకి ఫోన్ చేసి అభినందిస్తున్నారు. ప్రతీ సీన్ చాలా ఫాస్ట్ పేస్డ్గా, ఎంగేజింగ్గా ఉందంటుంటే చాలా గర్వంగా ఉంది.
– నాకు పూరీ జగన్నాథ్, రామ్ గోపాల్ వర్మ, ఉపేంద్ర లాంటి డైరెక్టర్ల మేకింగ్ అన్నా, ఆటిట్యూడ్ అన్నా చాలా ఇష్టం. చాయ్ షాట్స్లో ఉన్నప్పుడు వందలాది స్క్రిప్ట్లు విన్నాను. కానీ ‘దందా’ కథ చదువుతుంటే నన్ను నేనే చూసుకున్నట్టు అనిపించింది. వర్టికల్ స్టోరీ టెల్లింగ్లో నా మార్క్ డైరెక్షన్తో ఒక ట్రెండ్ క్రియేట్ చేయాలనుకున్నా. చాయ్ షాట్స్ ఆఫీస్లో నేను చేసిన డెమో చూసి అంతా ఫిదా అయిపోయారు. వర్టికల్లో సరైన స్ట్రాంగ్ కంటెంట్ లేకపోవడంతో, ‘దందా’తో ఒక ప్రాపర్ సినిమాటిక్ ట్రెండ్ తీసుకురావాలని ఫిక్స్ అయ్యా.
– ప్రస్తుతం మైక్రో డ్రామాలను జనాలు విపరీతంగా చూస్తున్నారు. కానీ వర్టికల్ ఫార్మాట్లో ప్రతీ సీన్ గ్రిప్పింగ్గా ఉండాలి. మామూలు సినిమాల్లో అయితే ఇంటర్వెల్, క్లైమాక్స్లో హైస్ అండ్ లోస్ ఉంటాయి. కానీ వర్టికల్లో ప్రతీ సీన్ ఒక క్లైమాక్స్ లాగే ఉండాలి! నిజం చెప్పాలంటే మెయిన్ స్ట్రీమ్ సినిమాలు తీయడం కంటే మైక్రో డ్రామాలు తీయడం చాలా కష్టం. ఈ పేసింగ్ చూస్తే, బయట ఉన్న బిగ్ మూవీ డైరెక్టర్లలో 80% మంది మైక్రో డ్రామా తీస్తే ఫెయిల్ అయ్యే అవకాశాలు ఉన్నాయి.ఎందుకంటే సెటప్ చేయడానికి ఇక్కడ టైమ్ ఉండదు. మొదటి సెకన్ నుంచే ఆడియె¯Œ ్సను హుక్ చేయాలి. ఇది చాలా ఛాలెంజింగ్ అండ్ ఎగ్జైటింగ్ జర్నీ.
– అరవింద్ పాత్ర కోసం చాలామందిని అనుకున్నాం, ఫైనల్గా దొరసాయి తేజను ఓకే చేశాం. కథ వినగానే ఆశ్చర్యపోయి, వెంటనే మార్కెటింగ్, నంబర్స్ గురించి మాట్లాడటం స్టార్ట్ చేశాడు. నాపై నమ్మకం ఉంచా డు. అలాగే నితిన్ ప్రసన్న గారికి కథ చెప్పగానే ఆయన వెంటనే ఒకే చెప్పారు.
– ఇక ఇందులోని ప్రోటాగానిస్ట్ ద్వారా ఆడియెన్స్ను ఎంటర్టైన్ చేస్తూనే, ఈ సైబర్ నేరగాళ్ల అసలు రూపాన్ని బయటపెట్టి జనాల్లో అవేర్నెస్ తేవాలని ఈ కథను డిజైన్ చేశా. అక్షర అద్భుతంగా నటించింది. అరవింద్ గా తేజ, నీరుగా అక్షర పర్ఫెక్ట్గా సెట్ అయ్యారు. కేరళలో ఉన్న నా ఫ్రెండ్స్ ద్వారా కెమెరామెన్ అశ్విన్ లెనిన్ పరిచయమయ్యాడు. క్రేజీ విజువల్స్ ఇచ్చాడు. ఇక మ్యూజిక్ డైరెక్టర్ రిషి ఎమ్ నా మంచి ఫ్రెండ్. షూటింగ్ ప్రారంభం కాకముందే మెజారిటీ మ్యూజిక్ కంపోజ్ చేసేశాడు!. తేజ గొప్పనటుడు భవిష్యతో పెద్ద యాక్టర్ అవుతాడు.
– మైక్రో డ్రామానే కదా అని తక్కువ అంచనాతో ‘దందా’ సిరీస్ చూడటం స్టార్ట్ చేయండి.. మా సిరీస్ మీ అభిప్రాయాన్ని పూర్తిగా మార్చేస్తుంది. ప్రస్తుతం ఒక 50 ఏళ్ల నేరస్థుడి చుట్టూ తిరిగే పవర్ఫుల్ స్టోరీ రాస్తున్నా. అద్భుతంగా రూపుదిద్దుకుంటోంది. దీనికి సంబంధించిన అఫీషియల్ అనౌన్స్మెంట్ రాబోయే రెండు మూడు నెలల్లో వస్తుంది.
